Assessment and working effectively with trauma Trauma Informed Practice Looking at complex childhood trauma This day aims to offer a neurobiological framework to the lens of trauma. This training will aim to cover brain architecture and the impact of trauma. – How does it affect our clients? Thinking about the difference with PTSD – is there one? What is Trauma – drawing on the work of Vessel VanDer Kolk, Dr Bruce Perry and Dan Siegal and the work of Beacon house. The ACE studies – what is it and what does it mean for us? Ideas for assessment and intervention using creative ideas and metaphors will be covered. Hayley Tuffin is a systemic psychotherapist, supervisor and social worker. Hayley works in public practice in a Social Care Setting. She has worked in CAMHS for nearly 20 years and also has done a stint with the Refugee council as their therapist with traumatised families. She has worked within a child sexual abuse clinic and for women fleeing domestic violence. She has also worked with adults with mental health needs and specialised in eating disorders. She also undertakes training up and down the south east on this topic and other safeguarding issues. Hayley trains practitioners in systemic ideas and has lectured for the IOP and IFT in the past. This workshop will give you 6 hours of CPD.
